Jeremy Van Driessche successfully defends his PhD!
Congratulations to Jeremy Van Driessche on successfully defending his doctoral dissertation, “The Ecological Implications of Body Size: Insights from an African Large Herbivore Assemblage,” on July 6th! Major (now also Dr.) Van Driessche is an accomplished Air Force pilot who also has a love for ecology and teaching, and after serving an operational tour he’s hoping to return to the Air Force Academy as a professor in the Biology Department. Jeremy completed his PhD program in just under 3 years, which is an incredible accomplishment. He also won both the UI and western regional 3-minute thesis competitions during his time here, and harvested his first wild turkey. You’ll be missed in the Long Lab Jeremy! You can read Jeremy’s dissertation here.
