National Geographic Supports Elephant Research in the Long Lab

In 2017 we were fortunate to receive a grant from the National Geographic Committee for Research and Exploration that will allow us to continue our elephant research in Gorongosa National Park for two more years. Paola Branco has spent the past three years studying human-elephant conflict at Gorongosa as part of her MS research program (read more about Paola’s research here). This recent funding from Nat Geo will allow us to continue building on that work in a myriad of ways, providing additional insights into the behavioral ecology of this elephant population as it recovers from decimation by war.
